2024 polls: NDC demands live broadcast of meeting with EC on voters register

-

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is calling for a live broadcast of its upcoming meeting with the Electoral Commission (EC) to discuss key issues identified in the Provisional Voters Register (PVR) for the December 7 general elections.

In a letter to the EC, NDC General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey emphasized that a live broadcast would enhance the transparency of the discussions.

On Tuesday, August 27, the NDC requested a meeting, citing significant discrepancies found during the 2024 voter exhibition exercise.

These issues stem from their analysis of the PVR provided by the EC, compared to the registers displayed at the exhibition centres.

The NDC and other stakeholders have voiced concerns over irregularities observed during the voter register exhibition held from Tuesday, August 20, to Tuesday, August 27.

Below is the NDC’s full letter.

REQUEST FOR LIVE BROADCAST OF PRESENTATION OF OBSERVATIONS FOUND IN PVR 2024

I bring you greetings from the NDC Party Headquarters, Accra and trust that this letter finds you well.

In connection with the upcoming meeting with your team slated for Friday, 6th September 2024, we request a live broadcast of our presentation of observations found in the Provisional Voters Register (PVR) to your team. This, we believe, will give true meaning to transparency as found in your motto.

We anticipate your usual attention and co-operation.

Thank you.
