2024 polls: Mahama vows to stabilise economy, reduce prices of good and services

-

Prices of basic goods will see sharp reduction and stability when I’m elected president on December 7, 2024, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) John Mahama has promised.

According to him, a future regime he will lead will stabilise the economy which will see prices of products such as fuel, foods or general goods reduce drastically.

“We are going to stabilise the economy so that the prices of goods and services will come down. When the NDC was in office, a bag of cement was GH₵25 but now, it is more than GH₵100, fuel was GH₵14 per gallon but our colleagues in the NPP said it was too expensive now it is more than GH₵70 cedis. So we are going to stabilise the economy so prices of goods and services will go down and make life more affordable for the people,” he said.

The former President said this while campaigning in the North East region.

Mr Mahama on Wednesday started a two-day tour in the home region of his main contender, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

He has been reminding constituents there of the NDC development when he was in government.

Mahama said the destruction caused to the economy by the ruling regime has affected rural dwellers the most but a future NDC government intends to lessen the financial burden on the people.

Aside from that, John Mahama has promised the people access to potable water, electricity, roads health facilities among others.

He reiterated his commitment to complete all abandoned projects.
