President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed concerns about the leadership capabilities of National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
He cautioned that if Mahama was to return to power, it could undermine key national policies, including the Free Senior High School (SHS) program.
Addressing the chiefs and people of the North-East Region, President Akufo-Addo warned that a vote for Mahama and the NDC in the upcoming December 7 elections could threaten his government’s continuation of vital initiatives.
He referenced recent statements made by Mahama as evidence that the NDC leader might eliminate the program if elected.
Akufo-Addo called on Mahama to clarify his position on the Free SHS policy, stating that Ghanaians deserve transparency on a program that has positively impacted numerous students nationwide.
“Let’s ask him [Mahama], which is which? What should Ghanaians believe is your true stance? Because this constant back and forth is difficult for some of us to understand.
“What should we trust? Are you going to alter it? Cancel it? Improve it? Because every time you speak, it’s something different. I don’t believe someone who speaks this way, and seeks the highest office of our nation, can be trusted,” the President said.
