The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for Trobu Constituency, Gloria Owusu, has pledged her commitment to improve the lives of her constituents ahead of the upcoming elections.
Addressing key issues, she emphasized that water scarcity remains the constituency’s major problem, and in response, she has initiated the drilling of 30 boreholes across various parts of Trobu.
Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem on Thursday, Ms Owusu revealed that she successfully lobbied the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to address the poor state of roads, with ongoing projects currently underway.
“Our major problem in the constituency is water. As a parliamentary candidate, I have initiated the drilling of 30 boreholes in various parts of the constituency. Additionally, I have lobbied the Vice President, Dr. Bawumia, for our roads to be fixed, and he has initiated the plans which are currently underway,” she said.
Madam Gloria highlighted her passion for supporting the Free SHS policy and her annual contributions to first-year students, providing provisions and financial aid.
She also promised to build a state-of-the-art library to serve students in the constituency.
“I am very interested in education, which is why I always support Akufo Addo for his free SHS policy. Every year, I provide first-year free SHS students with provisions and money. We also have a community library for students to go and learn after school. I will also build a magnificent library to cater to all students in the Trobo constituency because the best BECE students come from my constituency.”
On youth empowerment, Ms Gloria disclosed that 2,362 young people, particularly school dropouts and women aged 18 to 35, have been trained in vocational skills such as soap making, makeup, and hairdressing, with startup items distributed to support their businesses.
She further expressed confidence in securing 100,000 votes for the NPP and also assured that no household would be left out in her campaign efforts.
“I am urging all eligible voters in the Trobu Constituency to vote for the New Patriotic Party in the upcoming elections. I am aiming to secure about 100,000 votes, an increase from the over 66,000 votes the President received in the 2020 elections. Over 40,000 people did not vote last year, so we are making efforts to reach every household and ensure no one is left out. I am very confident of winning the elections,” she stated.
