The flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Nana Akosua Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankumah, has vowed to fully implement the Free Compulsory Universal Basic Education (FCUBE) policy in Ghana if she wins the 2024 general elections.
She assured that under her leadership, every child, regardless of their background or financial circumstances, will have access to quality education without barriers.
In an interview with Channel One TV, Madam Frimponmaa emphasized that all children will not only have the chance to enrol in school but will also be able to pursue at least an associate degree, even if their parents are financially incapable.
She expressed optimism about empowering future generations and driving national progress.
“I’ve spent a significant part of my life paying school fees for others. The CPP believes this should have been addressed decades ago. If I win the elections, FCUBE will be a reality—just like the decentralization system I’m bringing. No child will be left on the streets. Parents, understand this clearly: it’s not your choice whether your child goes to school or not.
“Whether you’re from Mali or anywhere else, no child will be left behind. Every young person will have access to at least an associate degree. Even if your parents can’t afford higher education, we will make it possible because we believe in you.
“When you receive the best education, you’ll return and contribute to the country’s progress with your youthful energy and skills,” she declared.
