-

The Banda Traditional Council has denied endorsing Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and Parliamentary Candidate Joe Dankwa.

“The Acting President of the Council, Nana Pɛ Aboatiaa, has clarified that Dr. Bawumia’s team did not visit the chief’s palace and stated that any endorsement given was personal, not on behalf of the Council.

He emphasized that Nananom represents everyone and welcomes all, making it inappropriate to support a single political party.

Dr. Bawumia visited Banda in October, where he met with the Kabrono Chief, Nana Sekyemme Sinapem II. However, the traditional council maintains its stance on neutrality.

The Acting President also urged the youth to avoid violence before, during, and after the elections, recalling the incident four years ago that tragically resulted in one death.

The acting President of the Banda traditional council Nana Pɛ AboatiaaThe chief made the clarification when the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, visited the area to campaign ahead of the December 7 election.

Meanwhile, at a mini rally in Banda-Ahenkro, Asiedu Nketia urged citizens to reject the NPP and Dr. Bawumia, citing their inability to provide innovative solutions for Ghanaians.

He challenged Dr. Bawumia to stop calling for a debate with John Mahama, emphasizing the NPP’s failures under President Akufo-Addo’s leadership.

Asiedu Nketia rallied support for the NDC’s presidential candidate, John Mahama, and parliamentary candidate, Ahmed Ibrahim, encouraging constituents to vote for them to continue their developmental projects.
