The Dormaahene, Osagyefo Ɔseadeɛyɔ Dr. Fredua Agyemang Badu II, celebrated his Silver Jubilee and the 2024 Kwafie Festival in grand style at Dormaa Ahenkro.
The event showcased a vibrant display of culture and tradition, drawing dignitaries and spectators from across and beyond Dormaa.
Osagyefo Ɔseadeɛyɔ Dr. Fredua Agyemang Badu II ascended the Aduana throne on July 25, 1999, succeeding his late uncle, Nana Agyemang Badu I.
Now marking 25 years of leadership, the Dormaahene also serves as the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs.
The celebration, held at the Agyemang Badu I Sports Stadium, coincided with the Kwafie Festival under the theme: “Our Environment, Our Future.”
It attracted hundreds of chiefs, political leaders, and thousands of attendees, reflecting the significance of the occasion.
In his address, the Dormaahene expressed gratitude to successive governments, religious bodies, and the people of Dormaaman for their unwavering support throughout his reign.
He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the development of the Dormaa Traditional Area through projects such as factories and other resource-based initiatives. He promised even greater progress for Dormaaman in the years ahead.
The Chairman of the event, Ohenpon Yeboah Asiamah I, urged traditional leaders to actively engage in national issues, particularly those impacting land and environmental preservation.
He stressed the need to address the consequences of environmental degradation and prioritize the welfare of their people.
Additionally, Ohenpon Yeboah Asiamah I called for unity among traditional leaders in Bono to strengthen the development of Bonoman.
He emphasized that a united front would pave the way for sustained progress in the region.
