2024 election: Reject Mahama – Kwamena Duncan tells Ghanaians

-

Former Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan has urged Ghanaians not to vote for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, in the upcoming general elections.
During an interview on Peace FM, on August 7, 2024, Mr. Duncan criticized Mahama’s recent remarks, arguing that they do not align with the decorum expected of a former President.
He questioned whether Mahama had learned any lessons from his time in office.
“The former President’s language and actions do not reflect his status. One might question if he learned any lessons from his presidency. To whom much is given, much is expected. If you have been the president of this country, you need to be circumspect in what you say; you need to season your language.”
Mr. Duncan took issue with Mahama’s claim that under NDC rule, there would be no forms of violence in the country, suggesting that such statements could embolden fringe elements to incite violence.
He argued, “If he says that, it opens the door for fringe elements in the country to take it up and incite violence. He is suggesting that it is only when the NPP is in power that the country witnesses such.”
He further added, “If the fringe elements incite violence based on his comments and one person loses their life, has he spoken well as a former president? Based on this, Ghanaians must reject the former president in all his forms and in all his manners.”
