The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Director of Elections and IT, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has warned electoral officials against flouting the rules of the 2024 election.
In a post on Facebook, Dr Boamah noted that Returning Officers found culpable of misconduct or malpractice will face legal prosecution.
He emphasised the NDC is commitment to protecting the integrity of the electoral process and will closely monitor activities at the collation centres.
“Returning officers must uphold the principles of fairness and transparency. Any deviation from these standards will not be tolerated, and those responsible will be held accountable under the law,” Dr Boamah stated.
He further called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to strengthen its oversight mechanisms to prevent irregularities and ensure that election results reflect the will of the people.
He also urged a collaborative effort among stakeholders to maintain peace and integrity throughout the electoral process.
