The Western Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Francis Ndede Siah, has declared that the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will win the December 7 polls.
Mr. Siah has vowed that Dr. Bawumia will win by no less than 53% of the votes in the region.
The Chairman made this statement in an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, with 12 days remaining until the highly anticipated electoral process.
Additionally, Mr. Siah declared that the NPP will flip three seats from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to secure 12 of the 15 parliamentary seats in the region.
“We are all earnestly praying and waiting for December 7. I will secure 12 seats and leave the NDC with 5,” he said.
“I have been the Regional Chairman for almost 12 years, and I know what I’m saying. The NPP secured 3 seats in Western North under my tenure. I’m winning the Western region hands down,” he added.
In a related development, former NPP National Chairman, Freddie Blay, stated in October 2024 that the party will win the majority of seats in the region.
As a former Ellembelle MP, Mr. Blay, speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen program, cited that the NPP will win back the Jomoro, Ellembelle, and Evalue-Gwira seats, which are currently held by the NDC.
He acknowledged that there have been a few issues that contributed to the NPP’s loss of these seats, particularly in Ellembelle.
However, it is not clear if these are the same three seats Mr. Siah has set his sights on.
