The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) Jean Mensa has wished the 11 presidential candidates disqualified from contesting the 2024 election better luck next time.
At a press briefing on Friday, Madam Mensa attributed their disqualifications to the same signatures being used for other people among others.
“The aspiring candidates who couldn’t file, we wish you better luck next time,” she said.
The EC on Friday, September 20, cleared 13 candidates and declared them eligible to contest the December 7 polls out of 24 aspirants who filed their nominations.
However, 11 people including the People’s National Convention’s (PNC) Bernard Mornah were disqualified.
But Mr Mornah has said the EC had no basis for his disqualification, hence will not accept it.
