2024 election is about Ghana’s future, not just NPP vs. NDC – Mahama

-

The flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, says this year’s election is not just a contest between the NPP and the NDC but a decision about the country’s future.

Addressing a rally in Gakli, Ketu South constituency, in the Volta Region, Mahama asserted that a small group of people have captured the country and are denying millions of Ghanaians opportunities.

“A small group of people have captured the country and are denying millions of Ghanaians opportunities.”

He believes the current regime has failed in various aspects of governance, including the fight against corruption, economic mismanagement, and limited opportunities for Ghanaians, particularly young people.

Mr. Mahama argued that, the 2024 election is crucial for the country’s future and urged voters to support the NDC.

The former President compared his record to that of the NPP government, noting significant increases in fuel prices, general prices of goods and services, and currency depreciation, among other issues.

Mr. Mahama contends that, while Ghana in 2016 was not perfect, it was far better than the current conditions under the Akufo-Addo-led government.

“Fuel prices have skyrocketed, prices of goods and services have soared, and the currency has depreciated. It was far better than the current conditions under the Akufo-Addo-led government. The 2024 election is crucial for the country’s future” he said.
