The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ledzokuku, Mordecai Quarshie is confident about the victory of New Patriotic Party(NPP) parliamentary candidate, Dr Bernard Okoe Boye‘s in the December 7 election.
Mr Quarshie has said he will be shocked if the Health Minister and former Member of Parliament(MP) does win back in the seat.
He made these remarks on Asempa FM Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, declaring the grounds are fertile and the odds are in Dr Okoe Boye’s favour.
“I believe that Dr. Oko Boye will be voted back as MP for Ledzokuku and I will be shocked if Okoe Boye doesn’t win the December polls as Ledzokuku MP,” he said.
Dr Okoe Boye lost the seat in the 2020 election to the NDC’s Benjamin Ayiku Narteh by a margin of 1,866 votes.
He polled 54,072 votes as against the NDC candidate’s 55,938 of the total votes cast.
However, Mr Quarshie is optimistic given the performance of the incumbent MP against Dr Okoe Boye’s constituents are eager for change.
“The voters in Ledzokuku are relatively young and easily identify with Okoe Boye,” he added.
