2024 election: Banda residents cautioned against voting ‘skirt and blouse’

The Parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Krachi Nchumuru, Solomon Kuyon, has urged residents of Banda in the Krachi Nchumuru constituency to avoid voting “Skirt and Blouse” in the 2024 election.

The term refers to the practice of voting for a presidential candidate from one party and a parliamentary candidate from another.

Mr Kuyon’s appeal comes in the wake of fierce competition from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate, James Mamudu who is poised to win the seat for the first time.

Speaking to chiefs, party sympathisers, and residents at Banda, Mr Kuyon emphasized the importance of party unity and loyalty.

He urged voters to vote for him and the NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama massively on December 7 to bring more development to the area as the people have neglected by the current NPP government.

“We don’t want any ‘Skirt and Blouse’ voting. We have to vote for NDC comes 7th December polls, so nobody should vote for ‘Skirt and Blouse’. NDC needs lots of MPs to help in the execution of projects in Krachi Nchumuru Constituency.

“Therefore, on the 7th December, vote for John Mahama and vote for me, Solomon Kuyon Zaaa, ” the MP said.

Meanwhile, some constituents have assured the MP and Parliamentary candidate of their unwavering support and vote.

They also urged NDC agents at the various polling stations to be vigilant and monitoring the election to protect their votes.
