Former Black Galaxies head coach, Annor Walker, has expressed optimism about the team’s prospects ahead of their upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Nigeria.
This marks the second time Ghana will face Nigeria in the CHAN playoffs.
With the first leg set for Sunday, December 22, at the Accra Sports Stadium, Walker is confident in the team’s chances.
He believes that under the guidance of current head coach Didi Dramani, the Black Galaxies have been thoroughly prepared and are primed to secure a strong result.
“I have had the chance to watch the team train at Prampram, and I was impressed,” the veteran Ghanaian coach told Asempa FM‘s Ultimate Sports Show.
“You watch them play, and you can see that they are well prepared and ready for this game against Nigeria. I know games between these countries are always difficult, but I know that Didi Dramani and the Black Galaxies will make Ghanaians proud,” the former Great Olympics and FC Samartex coach added.
As part of their preparations, the Black Galaxies played a friendly against Togo, securing a 2-1 victory.
The return leg against Nigeria will take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, while the CHAN tournament itself will be held in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania early next year.
