2024 CHANQ: Black Galaxies coach announces final squad for Nigeria game

Head coach of the Black Galaxies, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has named his final 26-man squad for the upcoming 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Nigeria.

Ghana is set to host the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 22, before travelling for the return leg at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Nigeria on Saturday, December 28.

The squad features notable defenders Razak Simpson (Nations FC), Nurudeen Abdulai (Medeama SC), Kusi Asante (Vision FC), Isaac Afful (FC Samartex 1996), and Kamaradini Mamudu (Medeama SC).

In midfield, the team boasts Emmanuel Antwi (Asante Kotoko), Manuel Mantey (Medeama SC), and Ibrahim Hafiz (Attram de Visser).

The attacking lineup includes Charwatey Faisal (Nations FC), Jerry Afriyie (Thoughts FC), Issah Yakubu (Basake Holy Stars), and Albert Amoah (Asante Kotoko SC).

As part of their build-up, the Black Galaxies secured a 1-0 victory over Togo in a friendly last week.

The CHAN tournament, scheduled for 2025 across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, will see Ghana face Nigeria again after triumphing on penalties in their previous encounter two years ago to secure qualification for the last edition.
