2024 CAF WCLQ: Hasaacas Ladies suffer 3-0 defeat against Edo Queens of Nigeria

-

Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat against Nigeria’s Edo Queens in the ongoing WAFU B Women’s Champions League qualifiers, putting their hopes of advancing in jeopardy.

The loss on Wednesday leaves the Ghanaian champions on the brink of elimination.

Hasaacas Ladies entered the match seeking their first victory of the tournament but were ultimately overpowered by a dominant Edo Queens side, who netted three goals in the second half to secure their second win.

Although the Takoradi-based team held their own in the first half, they struggled to maintain their form after the break, allowing their opponents to take control of the game.

With just one point from their opening two matches, following a draw with Omnisports Etincelle, Hasaacas Ladies find themselves in a precarious position.

Meanwhile, Etincelle cruised to a 6-1 win over AS Garde National in their second match, moving three points ahead of Hasaacas Ladies heading into the final round of fixtures.

Hasaacas Ladies will face Garde National in their final group stage match on Saturday, August 17.
