2024 CAF WCLQ: Hasaacas Ladies share spoil with Omnisports Etincelle in opener

-

Hasaacas Ladies kicked off their 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers campaign with a 0-0 draw against Omnisports Etincelle of Burkina Faso on Sunday afternoon.

The match, held at the Stade de la Paix de Bouake, saw Hasaacas struggle to break out of their own half for much of the game, with goalkeeper Grace Banwaa making crucial saves to keep the score level.

Despite being on the back foot for most of the encounter, Hasaacas managed to gain some momentum after introducing midfielder Fidous Yakaubu, but their efforts were ultimately unsuccessful in finding the net.

The draw marks an improvement for the reigning Ghana Women’s Premier League champions, who had previously lost 2-0 to Nigeria’s River Angels in their last appearance in the competition three seasons ago.

The team will now focus on their next group game against Nigeria’s Edo Queens, looking to secure a crucial win to boost their chances of advancing in the tournament.
