2024/25 GHPL: We punished Hearts of Oak for underrating us – Basake Holy Stars coach

-

Basake Holy Stars coach, Abdulai Gazale, has opened up following his team’s crucial victory over Hearts of Oak in their Ghana Premier League opener.

The newcomers secured a 1-0 win over the Phobians at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, with Prince Tweneboah netting the match-winning goal just two minutes into the game.

This marked an impressive debut for Holy Stars as they kicked off their campaign in style.

Reflecting on the match, Gazale said, “They underrated us. When you even hear people’s comments before the game.

He added, “I saw comments on their flyer, saying we should come and collect goals. If you disrespect your opponents, they will discipline you.”

Basake Holy Stars will next host Dreams FC at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Stadium, while Hearts of Oak will travel to face Heart of Lions at the Kpando Sports Stadium in the Matchday 2 fixtures.
