Medeama SC were held to a 0-0 draw by Kpando Hearts of Lions at the TnA Stadium in their Matchday 5 encounter of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.
Both teams struggled to create clear-cut chances, with Medeama coming closest in the second half.
However, Hearts of Lions’ goalkeeper Lawrence Osei put on a stellar performance, making crucial saves that secured a valuable point for the visitors.
His efforts were so impressive that even Medeama fans showed their appreciation, applauding him and giving him cash after the match.
This was the first time this season that Medeama failed to score, having found the back of the net in their previous three games.
On the other hand, Bashiru Hayford’s Hearts of Lions recorded their second straight goalless draw and their fourth draw in five games. Their only win came against Hearts of Oak in Matchday 2.
Despite the draw, Medeama still tops the league standings with 10 points from four games.
They will be looking to extend their lead when they face FC Samartex in an outstanding fixture on Wednesday, October 10, 2024.
Hearts of Lions, currently in fourth place with seven points from five games, will hope to break their winless run when they host Vision FC in Matchday 6.
The remaining Premier League matches will take place later today at various venues.
