The fifth round of games of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League concluded with some intriguing results across various venues.

Hearts of Oak played out a goalless draw against a 10-man Aduana FC at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Friday night, with neither side unable to break the deadlock.

On Saturday, Medeama SC’s flawless start to the season came to an end as they were also held to a 0-0 stalemate by Heart of Lions at the T&A Park.

Sunday’s action saw Asante Kotoko secure a narrow 1-0 victory over Accra Lions at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, thanks to a solitary strike from Albert Amoah.

Karela United battled to a 1-1 draw with reigning champions FC Samartex at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex. Michael Sefah put the Timber Giants ahead just before halftime, but Mohammed Hardi equalized in the 90th minute to salvage a point for Karela.

At Nana Kronmansah Park, Nsoatreman FC bounced back from their disappointing CAF Confederation Cup campaign with an emphatic 3-1 win over Legon Cities.

Richard Acquaah, Walid Fuseini, and Morrison Anokye all scored in the first half, whiles Mohammed Alidu netted a second-half consolation for Legon Cities.

At DUN’s Park, Bibiani GoldStars continued their strong run under Frimpong Manso, defeating Bechem United 1-0, with Michael Nkoah’s 36th-minute goal proving to be the match-winner.

Berekum Chelsea also claimed a 1-0 victory over Young Apostles at the Golden City Park. After a goalless first half, Mezack Afriyie’s 72nd-minute strike secured all three points for the home side.

At the Tuba Astro Turf, Dreams FC suffered a 1-0 defeat to Nations FC, with Nafiu Sulemana’s 80th-minute goal earning the visitors a crucial win.

In the final game of the round, Vision FC defeated Basake Holy Stars 1-0 at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex, with Daniel Yemoh’s first-half effort sealing the victory.

As the standings take shape, Asante Kotoko, Bibiani GoldStars, Medeama SC, and Nations FC occupy the top four spots, while Aduana FC, Dreams FC, and Legon Cities find themselves in the relegation zone.
