The 2024/25 Ghana Premier League Matchday 16 fixtures concluded with captivating games and significant outcomes across various venues.

The action began on Friday night as Hearts of Oak edged relegation-threatened Legon Cities 1-0. Ahmed Ramzy Yussif’s strike on the brink of halftime secured a crucial win, extending the Phobians’ impressive form.

On Saturday, Bibiani GoldStars hosted Berekum Chelsea at DUN’s Park and claimed a 2-0 victory. After a scoreless first half, Gideon Anaba opened the scoring in the 72nd minute before a Seidu Mohammed own goal sealed Chelsea’s fate in the 85th minute.

Sunday’s standout clash saw Medeama SC held to a 1-1 draw by Asante Kotoko at TNA Park. Kwame Opoku marked his return with a 44th-minute opener for Kotoko, but substitute Kamaradini Mamudu equalized in the second half to secure a point for Medeama.

At Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, Bechem United ended Heart of Lions’ unbeaten streak with a commanding 3-0 win. Darlvin Yeboah scored late in the first half, with Emmanuel Abban adding a second just before halftime. Abban struck again in the 71st minute to complete a brace and seal the Hunters’ emphatic victory.

At the Wenchi Sports Stadium, Young Apostles broke their winless streak with a 2-0 victory over Karela United. Samuel Prempeh’s 35th-minute goal set the tone before a second-half set-piece sealed the win.

Vision FC triumphed over Nsoatreman FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex with Abdul Sulemana’s early 7th-minute goal proving decisive.

Defending champions FC Samartex edged Aduana FC 1-0 at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park. Aduana played with 10 men after goalkeeper Masawudu Inusah’s red card, allowing Solomon Agyei to net the winner in the 76th minute, ending Samartex’s five-game winless streak.

Dreams FC returned to form with a narrow 1-0 victory against Accra Lions at the Tuba Astro Turf. Kelvin Ahiable’s 71st-minute goal secured the points for the home side, while Accra Lions finished with 10 men after Edmond Amakye’s dismissal in the 63rd minute.

Heart of Lions, Bibiani GoldStars, Nations FC, and Bechem United occupy the top four positions, while Nsoatreman FC, Accra Lions, and Legon Cities remain in the relegation zone.
