Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum is bracing for a challenging match against Karela United in the opening game of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
The Porcupine Warriors will face Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on September 6.
In an interview with the club’s media, Narteh Ogum emphasized the importance of preparation, reflecting on the previous season where his team lost and drew in their encounters with Karela United.
He acknowledged that the upcoming match is expected to be particularly tough, given last season’s results.
“We’re starting the season with a trip to Tamale, and given that Karela United secured four out of six points against us last season, this first game is going to be crucial. We need to be thoroughly prepared and ensure we achieve a positive result” he added.
After a trophyless season, Asante Kotoko is determined to compete for titles this year.
To strengthen their squad, the club has signed 12 new players.
