Award-winning sports broadcaster Patrick Osei-Agyemang has called on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to address the ongoing match-fixing issues plaguing the Ghana Premier League.
The league has faced difficulties securing long-term sponsorship deals due to these match-fixing allegations.
betPawa ended their three-year contract with the GFA halfway through the previous season.
Business tycoon Daniel McKorley, also known as McDan, speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show highlighted that, the GFA is struggling to find a major sponsor for the league because of concerns over gambling and match-fixing.
However, host of “Fire for Fire” on Adom TV, Countryman Songo urged the GFA to eliminate match-fixing to attract corporate sponsors for the 2024/25 season.
He also called on referees to enhance their performance and refrain from collaborating with club officials to manipulate match outcomes.
