2024/25 Ghana Premier League to go on break for general elections

-

The 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season will temporarily pause for the upcoming national elections, set for December 7, 2024.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced that the league will take a break after matchday 12, with the last games played on November 25, 2024.

Play is expected to resume on December 13, 2024.

This pause allows players and officials to fulfil their civic responsibilities in electing a new president and parliamentarians before the elections.

In addition to the election break, the GFA has confirmed that midweek fixtures will be scheduled, specifically for clubs participating in CAF inter-club competitions.

The season is set to kick off on Friday, September 6, 2024, at various venues, and will wrap up on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
