2017 MTN FA Cup champions, Asante Kotoko have been handed a walkover by CAF after FECAFOOT failed to submit a representation before the deadline.
The Ghanaians giants were billed to play an unknown Cameroonian side in their 2019 Confederations Cup opener at the Babayara Sports Stadium on Wednesday, November 28 but according to CAF’s official page, the Cameroonian FA failed to submit a representative.
The decision automatically grants Asante Kotoko all points at stake and progression onto the 1/16 stage of the African Club competition.
Asante Kotoko who recalled six of their players who were called to the Black Stars B camp will continue training and preparing for the tournament as they await the next opponent to be named.
