An 18-year-old lady, identified as Afia Nkor, has been found dead in her room at Nweneso No.2 in the Atwima Kwanwoma Municipality of the Ashanti Region, allegedly killed by unknown assailants.
Reports indicate that her mother, upon returning from a funeral on Saturday, discovered her daughter lying in a pool of blood in her room.
Fredrick Duah, the Assembly Member for Nweneso II, told Adom News that Afia was found with a severe head injury caused by a sharp object.
“The lady was found dead with a deep cut on her head. The cause of the tragedy is yet to be determined as investigations are still ongoing,” Duah explained.
The police have since conveyed the body to the mortuary and are urging the community to provide any information that may assist in the investigation.
Henry Acheampong, the brother of the deceased, expressed his shock and fear over the incident, urging the authorities to increase security in the area to ensure the safety of residents.
