100 Days to Elections Campaign Launch: Focus on data – Political parties urged [Listen]

-

A senior lecturer at the Department of Planning of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Dr. Stephen Appiah Takyi, has stressed the importance of data for political parties as they prepare for the upcoming elections.

In an interview on Nhyira FM, as part of Adom Brands’ 100 Days to Elections countdown, he stressed that, political parties should not engage in mere praise singing.

Instead, Dr. Appiah Takyi urged them to confront the realities of the election environment and focus on data, which he believes will play a crucial role.

“Political parties should not go into the election with praise singing. The manifesto should be compelling, and data will play an important role, so they should pay attention to it” he said.

He noted the significance of proper planning and consultation with experienced individuals in relevant sectors to help Ghanaians appreciate the manifestos.

Dr. Appiah Takyi also pointed out that, if the ruling party fails to convince the public, it reflects poorly on both major political parties, suggesting that they have not met the expectations of Ghanaians.

“Because of the pressure, people are not enthused about it. This means the two political parties have not met the expectations of Ghanaians” he stressed.

As the nation nears a critical moment in its democratic journey, Adom Brands has held a special broadcast marking the final 100 days before the December 7 elections.

The event is being aired live across multiple platforms, including Adom TV, Adom FM 106.3, Asempa FM 94.7, and Nhyira FM 104.5, to keep the public fully informed and engaged throughout this crucial period.
