A political analyst and lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr. Thomas Buabeng, has urged media across the country to ensure they do fact-checking before bringing news to the public.
He made this known on Adom TV as part of the 100 Days to Elections Campaign Launch by Adom Brands.
Dr. Buabeng urged the media to be vigilant, prioritize national interests in their reporting, and ensure proper fact-checking.
“Media should do proper fact-checking to avoid spreading misinformation,” noting that “social media can be misleading during the election season.”
He also advised voters to focus on the practical achievements outlined in party manifestos and to avoid engaging in or supporting violence.
“Focus on the manifestos and what parties can realistically achieve,” he added, “and steer clear of violence. All kinds of things pop up during election season, and that is why we need to stay vigilant.”
As the nation approaches a pivotal moment in its democratic journey, Adom Brands has held a special broadcast marking the final 100 days before the December 7 elections.
The event is being aired live across multiple platforms, including Adom TV, Adom FM 106.3, Asempa FM 94.7, and Nhyira FM 104.5, to keep you fully informed and engaged throughout this critical period.
