Bompata, a community in the Asante-Akim South District has been thrown into shock and disbelieve over a suicide allegedly committed by a 10-year boy.
The deceased is reported to have hanged himself in a room where he had been living with his siblings.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Andrew Anyani, the District Commander, confirmed the incident added that an autopsy report showed the young boy died of suffocation.
The body has since been released to the family for burial.
Adiza Kabiru, the mother of the deceased said the son did not show any sign that he was unhappy about anything.
He had returned from school, changed cloths, went out to play and when it was time for supper and he could not be found, his siblings were sent searching for him.
After a fruitless search, they came back home and one of them impulsively entered their room only to find him dangling on a rope suspended from the ceiling.
Police investigations are ongoing.
