2024/25 GHPL: I am eager to watch Kotoko, Hearts of Oak play – Otto Addo

-

Ghana coach, Otto Addo has expressed his excitement about watching Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.

Addo recently attended a match between Legon Cities and Medeama SC at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, where Medeama secured a 1-0 victory over the Royals.

Following the game, the 45-year-old identified Medeama SC and FC Samartex as early title contenders. However, he emphasized his eagerness to watch traditional giants Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in action.

“From what I saw from Medeama and Samartex, they are performing well. So, it could be between these two, but I haven’t watched all the teams yet. I’m looking forward to seeing Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, and other top teams before making any conclusions,” Addo said.

Addo, who is also scouting for local talent, revealed his plan to attend more Ghana Premier League matches this season. “At the moment, I can’t say who will win the league,” he added.

The Black Stars coach had earlier watched Samartex, the reigning champions, defeat Nsoatreman in the 2024 Ghana Super Cup and saw Medeama lose on penalties to Basake Holy Stars in the Apinto Cup.

Looking ahead, Otto Addo and his team are preparing for a crucial doubleheader against Sudan next month, as they aim to secure their first points in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
