Two persons were burnt beyond recognition at Kikam in the Ellembelle district of the Western region in a motor crash which resulted in a gas explosion Wednesday evening.
The two vehicles went up in flames after one of them, a bus running on gas, rammed into a passenger vehicle, eye witnesses say.
A local journalist, Lydia Mensah, reports the flames have been totally doused.
The incident happened a few minutes after 8 pm, Lydia told Joy News.
Fire service personnel and police are said to have had a tough time to bring the raging flames under control.
However, Lydia reports casualty figures could be higher as authorities assess the situation.
She said one person who escaped from the passenger vehicle that can accommodate at least 10 people is the only known survivor.
The bodies have been conveyed to the Axim Government Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
The Ellembelle District Police Commander Thomas Bayor confirmed the accident, adding investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
