A Muslim cleric says the appeal by the Minister of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovations, Dr. Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, for Islamic worshipers to call members with SMS or WhatsApp messages instead of the megaphone is good but not feasible.
Dr. Kwabena Frimpong Boateng at a press conference appealed to Muslims to consider using text messages in calling their members to worship than the usual use of megaphones.

Dr. Frimpong Boateng says churches must also limit their noise levels by preaching to the hearing of members of their congregation alone.
This he said would help curb noise pollution in our the country.

However, President of the Islamic Da’Wah Mission, Sheikh Samudeen Bin Abdullah, says though the minister’s call for the reduction of noise is laudable, it will be difficult to wake sleeping members up at dawn with text messages.
He also says Azan or the call to worship is also part and parcel of their worship.

Sheikh Samudeen said they will consider not using the megaphones during worship in the mosque, but the early morning call to worship is necessary.
